Introducing AFS Furrow Command for Precision Disk Series Air Drills

AFS Furrow Command™ for Precision Disk Air Drills increase the accuracy and versatility you need to get the most out of every seed in a variety of crops and conditions. AFS Furrow Command helps operators consistently maintain seed depth, regardless of terrain to boost productivity and yield potential — and make the most of every moment in the field.

Downforce Automation with AFS Technology

AFS Furrow Command, available for Precision Disk 550T, 550, and 500DS, helps you make informed decisions on setting downforce via gauge wheel sensors that provide in-cab feedback. You can also adjust downforce automatically while traveling through the field, allowing the drill to effortlessly deal with changing field terrain and soil conditions and also maintain positive contact with the ground. This ensures the row unit is always achieving its set depth to optimize your fields.

With AFS Furrow Command, you can:

  • Simplify your operation – There’s no need to change settings for different conditions to achieve seed depth consistency.
  • Improve depth control - Adjust the hydraulic pressure for each frame section independently.
  • Reduce component wear – Feedback from the system allows you to minimize the force required to maintain gauge wheel contact with the ground.
Gain Efficiencies and Improve Yield Potential

Through our Customer Driven Product Design (CDPD) process, Case IH has engineered an agronomically designed row unit that cuts residue; opens a high-quality, uniform seed trench; delivers the seed perfectly; and closes the trench better than any row unit in the marketplace. With the Precision Disk 500 double shoot (DS) air drill, you can add to those benefits saving time by seeding and fertilizing simultaneously. The Precision Disk 550 series air drill makes further advances to the parallel-link row unit design, offering greater seed placement accuracy than ever before.

Convenience and Durability in a Rugged Frame Design

Main Frame Design

Our main frame utilizes wall tubes to support the row unit carrying the subframe The center main frame’s tubes are oriented in a "V" shape to distribute the weight of the main frame, adding additional support and stability during transport. The front caster wheels travel in a different path than the rear caster wheels, providing exceptional weight distribution and reduced ground pressure for even emergence while allowing for a smaller transport envelope. Nearly every part of the machine is powder coated to provide a superior paint coating that is resistant to impacts and paint-fading UV rays and helps prevent corrosion.

Wing Frame Design

A three-section frame drill with single-fold wings provides narrow transport.
